Once upon a time there lived a beautiful Queen and her King, in a special land called Hatfieldadelphia. This Queen and her King had 8 kids, and 44 grandkids. But most special of all was that 38 were of those 44 grandchildren were girls! Having a special place in their hearts for their little princess grandchildren, the Queen and King of Hatfieldadelphia decided to have special parties just for them, where they could play and dance and have fun.
A few years later, the Queen and King were visiting a different Kingdom, called Frankfurt, Germany, where they met a special African Princess named Bernadine. Princess Bernadine's family was back in a land called Kenya, where people were struggling to survive. Children didn't have supplies for school, families didn't have access to clean water, and medical care was scarce. The Queen and King of Hatfieldadelphia began to help the people of Kenya and called their efforts "In Our Own Quiet Way."
Returning to Hatfieldadelphia, it occurred to the King that he could invite all of the little princesses of Utah (and beyond) to join his sweet princess granddaughters in fun, adventure and magic while also helping the people of Kenya. In 2008, the first annual Princess Festival was held, and has continued to be the Queen and King's favorite time of year (even more than Christmas!)
All proceeds from the Princess Festival go towards the projects of In Our Own Quiet Way to benefit the people of Kenya. In 2010, Quiet Way is finishing the construction of an orphan feeding center; providing scholarships to orphaned students; and building dams throughout Kenya as a permanent solution to drought problems. Always remember - by participating in this event, you AND your little princesses are truly making the world a better place. The Princess Festival is an opportunity to be a part of a real-life fairy tale, changing the lives of those who have been waiting for a hero to step in and give a helping hand.
