Does my Princess have to be between the ages of 4 and 12?
- Any princess that wishes to register for the festival is welcome, but we have found that girls 4-12 have the most fun. A lot of it depends on the personality of your princess - keep in mind they will be interacting with adult actors and actresses.
Can little boys come?
- Registration for the Princess Festival is limited to girls at this time. Our experience is that little girls are more easily engaged in the fantasy without little boys. At present, we do not have an all-boy event to complement the Princess Festival.
Can I bring my camera?
- Yes, you are welcome to bring a camera to record your little girl's adventure
Do Parents/Guardians have to pay for entrance to the Princess Festival?
- Parents and guardians are admitted to the Princess Festival free-of-charge. Registration is only necessary for girls who wish to participate in the various activities.
Should adults come dressed up too?
- You are welcome to come dressed in Princess attire if you like, but it is not expected. All cast members and volunteers of the Princess Festival will be in fantasy costume for your little Princess' immersion in the fantasy.
Can I bring other children, babies, strollers?
- You will be with your princess throughout the adventure, but at a distance of about 20 feet (unless they feel more comfortable at your side). There are some upstairs/downstairs parts of the adventure that are not extremely stroller-friendly, although it's feasible. Our recommendation is to minimize the amount of extra care/distractions for yourself so that you can most easily enjoy your daughter on her adventure; however no children over the age of 4 will be admitted without a registration.
Why does the Princess Festival cost $30?
- The Princess Festival has three purposes: 1) to raise funds for In Our Own Quiet Way's programs in Kenya, 2) to unite the community in service, 3) to provide young girls with an uplifting adventure. The enormous effort it takes for our volunteers to put on this event makes it difficult for the event to last longer than 2 weeks. The price point was chosen with input from the community to maximize the funds raised for Kenya, while keeping it affordable for families.
Who are these NEW Princess Festival Princesses?
- Quiet Way developed an online game for the Princess Festival which has 6 character Princesses from around the world. Author K.L. Morgan has taken these Princess characters from the game and developed new fairy-tale stories about each of them to further teach young girls about service, kindness, self-respect and love. Over the next few years, we will continue to develop these Princess stories to give your girls something new and special to look forward to and learn about at the Princess Festivals.
Will there be food at the Princess Festival?
- There will be candy, water and food booths at the Princess Festival. We are doing everything we can to find low-cost options for you to ensure you can spend the whole day at the Princess Festival if you choose. You are also welcome to bring your own food and snacks. We have a lot of beautiful lawn space, perfect for a picnic!
What if I need to change the day and time I registered for?
- If you need to make changes to your registration for any reason, please send an info@princessfestival.com. We will respond to you within 48 hours.
I can't find the time I want to register for?
- Each session only allows 25 girls to register. If you are unable to register for a particular time/day it means that time slot is full. Please choose another time to attend.
What if my little girl doesn't have a Princess costume?
- Little girls are wonderful, in that they can feel special and beautiful in almost anything: Sunday best, their favorite outfit, mom's jewelry - it's easy to be creative. We also will have booths available with princess accessories and costumes for sell, as well as hairstyling and glitter nail booths. We've also seen a lot of GREAT stuff for reasonable prices at local thrift stores. Local Kid to Kid stores are also carrying princess dresses for this event.
What about weather problems?
- The Princess Festival is held, rain or shine. About 75% of the event is held outdoors. No refunds will be issued for inclement weather. In the event of rain or wind, some Princesses or events may not be available during your time slot, however, we have contingency plans in place and will do everything in our power to make sure your Princess enjoys as much adventure and magic in the indoor space we have.
